Plan your preparation
The test, and your practice.
TOEFL iBT assesses Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking. Use official ETS information for test-day requirements and your institution's own requirements for admissions.
What you can practice here
Our current release offers introductory Reading skill practice with original everyday and academic-style texts. You can work on details, main ideas, vocabulary, inference, and the purpose of a detail. A free pilot adds word-completion passages, short Daily Life texts, and academic reading exercises with explanations. Explore free practice →
What the current Reading section covers
ETS lists three task types: Complete the Words, Read in Daily Life, and Read an Academic Passage. Our multiple-choice exercises support some of these skills, and the free Reading pilot offers examples of all three. This introductory collection is supplementary practice with a limited range of passages.
The other sections
Listening includes short responses, conversations, announcements, and academic talks. Writing includes sentence building, an email, and academic discussion. Speaking includes repetition and interview responses. These sections are planned for this site.
Understanding your progress
The official scale is 1–6, in half-point steps, following the January 2026 update. Our practice accuracy is a learning aid and does not convert into an official band score. The official test adapts, so a fixed practice session does not reproduce its scoring or routing.
